ALUCOAT renews its sponsorship with the Cástulo Archery Club

ALUCOAT has renewed its commitment to local sports by once again supporting the Cástulo Archery Club of Linares (Jaén). This collaboration reinforces ALUCOAT’s dedication to promoting values such as effort, discipline, and teamwork through sports activities.

As part of this partnership, the Cástulo Archery Club, together with the Andalusian Archery Federation, recently organized the Andalusian Clout Archery Championship. The event brought together 32 archers from 13 clubs across the Andalusian region in Linares, consolidating the city as a benchmark in this discipline.

This type of initiative generates a positive impact on the community by promoting healthy habits, energizing local life, and bringing sports closer to young people and families in the region.

ALUCOAT collabore une année de plus avec la Confrérie de Nuestra Señora de Linarejos

Du 7 au 15 juin, les Fêtes en l’honneur de la Vierge de Linarejos Couronnée, Patronne de la ville, ont eu lieu à Linares (Jaén). Il s’agit d’un rendez-vous très attendu par les habitants et profondément enraciné dans la tradition locale.

Parmi les activités traditionnelles, on distingue la célèbre Tombola de Poupées, organisée par la Confrérie de “Nuestra Señora de Linarejos”, qui marque le début des festivités. Cette initiative solidaire vise à collecter des fonds pour l’entretien du Sanctuaire et à soutenir les personnes en situation de vulnérabilité dans la ville.

Pour la troisième année consécutive, ALUCOAT a souhaité s’associer à cette cause en faisant don de rouleaux d’aluminium, remis pendant les jours de célébration et utilisés pour l’organisation de la tombola.

Par cette action, ALUCOAT réaffirme son engagement envers la communauté et sa volonté de collaborer activement avec les structures locales qui promeuvent des valeurs de solidarité.

ALUCOAT strengthens its commitment to the Club Tiro con Arco Cástulo

Club Tiro con Arco Cástulo based in Linares, continues to establish itself as a benchmark in the promotion and development of archery, thanks to its passion and dedication. Its work in training new talents and spreading this sport has been key to strengthening its presence and recognition within the sports community.

Since its inception, the club has worked tirelessly to promote archery, providing young athletes with a platform to develop their skills.

Among its most recent achievements is Juan Navarrete García, who secured first place in the Andalusian Indoor Championship held in Chiclana, competing in the Cadet category—one level above his own—earning a bronze medal with the Andalusian team. Another outstanding athlete is Juan Navarrete Muñoz, who became runner-up of Andalusia for the second consecutive time. He was selected to represent Andalusia in the National Championship held in Valladolid, where he ranked ninth among more than one hundred participants.

ALUCOAT supports a team that not only promotes sports practice but also fosters essential values such as discipline, effort, and perseverance. Through this collaboration, ALUCOAT reaffirms its commitment to sports, health, and the well-being of the community.

ALUCOAT avance sur son chemin vers la transition verte avec l’énergie solaire

ALUCOAT réaffirme son engagement en faveur de la durabilité en installant 1 726 panneaux solaires dans son usine de Linares (Jaén), avançant résolument vers une industrie de plus en plus verte.

L’installation a une puissance de 949,30 kW et permettra que 21,4 % de la consommation énergétique de l’usine provienne de sources d’énergie renouvelables.

Ce projet aura un impact environnemental significatif, équivalant à éviter l’émission de 350 tonnes de CO2 par an et à la plantation de 700 arbres. L’initiative fait partie de la stratégie globale de l’entreprise visant à réduire de manière significative son empreinte carbone et à contribuer à l’atténuation du changement climatique.

ALUCOAT démontre avec cet investissement son engagement envers l’environnement, les personnes et l’avenir, en favorisant un modèle industriel plus propre et plus efficace. L’intégration des énergies renouvelables ne réduit pas seulement les émissions, mais renforce la responsabilité sociale et environnementale de l’entreprise, générant un impact positif pour les générations présentes et futures.

ALUCOAT donates again aluminium coils to the Brotherhood of Nuestra Señora de Linarejos

The traditional festivities in honour of the Virgen de Linarejos Coronada, the Patron Saint of Linares, Jaén, took place from the 18th to the 26th of May.

The Brotherhood of Nuestra Señora de Linarejos, as every year, organised its traditional “Tombola de Muñecas” to raise funds for the maintenance of the Sanctuary, which helps vulnerable people in the city.

Thanks to the President of the Brotherhood, Patricio Lupiañez Cruz, ALUCOAT, made a generous donation of aluminium rolls, for the second consecutive year, to collaborate with this noble cause.

With this action, ALUCOAT highlights the importance of collaboration between the business sector and charities to unite in the fight against inequality and poverty and create a positive social impact in the community.

ALUCOAT RECEIVES STUDENTS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF JAEN

Last Friday, May 10, ALUCOAT received a total of 17 final-year students from the Telematics Engineering degree program at the University of Jaen. Accompanied by José Ángel Fernández Prieto, a professor from the Department of Telecommunications Engineering, they had the opportunity to get a close look at an Industry 4.0 environment through ALUCOAT Conversion’s innovative and highly digitalized processes.

These kinds of events are part of the Sustainable Development Plan with which ALUCOAT supports Quality Education, as it allow students to interact with professionals and gain a practical insight into the application of their knowledge in a real industrial setting.

This visit underscores the importance of collaboration between industry and academia, and ALUCOAT is proud to contribute to the development of the talents who will lead the future of telematics and technology.

ALUCOAT certifies in Aluminium Stewardship Initiative ASI, its commitment to sustainability in the aluminium value chain.

ALUCOAT is very pleased to obtain the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Certification for Performance Standard (V3 2022) as a commitment to improve sustainability throughout the aluminium value chain, all our stakeholders, and with SDG 17 Partnerships for the goals.

ASI is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain, setting 59 criteria under the three pillars of sustainability: Environment, Social and Governance.

ALUCOAT is in the process of implementing improvements focused on the sustainability priorities proposed by ASI in their strategy (2030-2050) such as:

• Climate change, where aluminium accounts for around 2% of CO₂ eq global emissions. It is required an aluminium sector aligned with 1.5°C and therefore a low carbon aluminium. ALUCOAT, as part of its commitment to SDG 13 Climate Action, calculates the Carbon Footprint (Scope 1 and 2) and increases the percentage of recycled aluminium in its products. It also has solar panels installed and ISO 50001 certification, contributing to the reduction of Greenhouse Gas emissions.

• Circularity, where aluminium is 100% recyclable and experiences no loss of properties or quality during the recycling process. To achieve this, ALUCOAT focuses on aluminium utilization measures, reducing raw material consumption. ALUCOAT also implements sustainable water management and carries out segregation and separation by aluminIum alloys. All of these efforts are highlighted by the recent attainment of the Zero Waste Certificate. These actions align with SDG 6 Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 7 Affordable and Clean Energy, and SDG 12 Responsible Production and Consumption.
• Positive nature, improving the resilience of our planet and our societies in aspects of ecosystems, habitats, species and biodiversity. Where measures such as sustainable water management and the commitment to increasing the use of recycled aluminium, as opposed to extracting primary aluminium, are related to SDG 14 Life Below Water and SDG 15 Life on Land.
• Human rights, as a broad and cross-cutting issue throughout the supply chain. ALUCOAT promotes respect for human rights in new industrial projects and significant organizational changes, community development, workers’ rights, and occupational health and safety management with its ISO 45001 certification. This aligns with SDG 5 Gender Equality, SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities.
